Erika's Delicatessen got its name from it's original owner. The store opened at its first location in 1975 and sold mostly German products. In 2000, Erika sold the store to Laurie Lindrup.

Laurie decided to keep the name and expanded the store's product offerings to European and Scandinavian items with the addition of catering, wine and beer events, and tastings.

For 31 years, Erika's stood in the Roaring 20's Plaza on 28th Street because of its loyal customers.

In 2006, it dropped Delicatessen from its name, and moved to its current location in November, adding a bakery, coffee bar and more to its accolades.

"We want to give our customers more choices and more quality. We also want to give people who haven't experienced Erika's before a chance to see what they have been missing."

In 2008, Craig and Jeff Tiggleman took over ownership of the store. Bringing years of experience in the catering business, Erika's is quickly becoming the place to be for fancy food.

Laurie, a Certified Executive Chef, has 28 years experience in the food service industry as a chef, cooking school instructor and business owner.

She received her Grande Diplome from Ecole de Cuisine at LaVarenne, Pastry Certificate from Cordon Bleu and attended L’Academie du Vin in Paris, France. She also attended advanced classes at the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park Campus and studied at the Rudd Center for Wine Education at Greystone in Napa, California.

She currently teaches cooking classes at GRCC in their ICE program. She has worked under Nina Simons and Mark Pi, owned and operated a restaurant in Toledo, Ohio for 10 years. She owned Erika’s Delicatessen from 2000 to 2007. Laurie has two sons, Blaine and Andy.
